In 20 years, almost half of all lions have disappeared in Africa, due to habitat loss, human-animal conflicts and a decreasing number of prey. Only 20,000 of these social felines now live in Africa and Asia, and although they are not yet threatened with extinction, the IUCN has had to give them "vulnerable" status. In partnership with the non-profit African Parcs, WWF is securing lion populations. The approach is strongly focused on poverty alleviation and economic development of the local population with the development of nature parks where the iconic lion is central. We support WWF on a monthly basis and like to highlight the issues of climate change, and increasing pressure on animal populations. That is why we are adding Lili the lion patches to our range of SOS animals.
